Cipher Genetics – Blue Corgi
Sour Diesel lineage, blue fruit, and a Chem Bx foundation
With Blue Corgi, Cipher Genetics makes it quite clear what this genetics is all about based on the lineage alone. The complete cross is (Albany Sour Diesel × Blue Nerds) × Chem Bx (Chemdog 4 × Stardawg). This brings together two different sides of American cannabis genetics: a fruity, diesel-forward parent cross and a distinctly Chem-oriented foundation made of Chemdog 4 and Stardawg. Blue Corgi is offered as regular seeds.
The most interesting layer lies in the structure of the parental lines. Albany Sour Diesel provides a clear connection to the Sour/Diesel complex. Blue Nerds counters this with a significantly fruitier direction. This duo is then combined with Cipher Genetics' Chem Bx, the basis of which consists of Chemdog 4 × Stardawg. Blue Corgi is therefore a regular hybrid of Albany Sour Diesel × Blue Nerds, crossed with a Chem Bx line of Chemdog 4 and Stardawg.
The fact that Chem Bx is more than just an addition to the name is also evident from its classification within the Cipher portfolio. Blue Corgi belongs to the Chem Bx Collection, in which different source genetics meet the same Chem-oriented breeding block. This creates a common foundation within the series without the individual strains losing their unique character.
Aromatically, an exciting contrast emerges. Diesel, berry, and citrus form the central direction, combining fruity freshness with significantly heavier fuel and Chem accents. The Blue Nerds side contributes a berry-like, sweeter dimension, while Albany Sour Diesel provides the sour and diesel character. Chem Bx expands this profile with additional depth and a darker, earthy, gassy base.
It is precisely this combination that makes Blue Corgi interesting within modern US genetics. Instead of a classic sweet blueberry or candy profile, a Berry-Diesel-Chem hybrid is created where fruit and fuel stand clearly side-by-side. The berry side remains present but is repeatedly reined in by citrus, Sour Diesel, and Chem.
Botanically, Blue Corgi can be classified as a hybrid. An exact sativa/indica split as well as specific information regarding plant height and yield are not specified. The flowering time is in the longer range of more than 65 days.
Aromatically, Blue Corgi should also not be understood as a purely fruity variety. Diesel, berry, and citrus form the core profile, while the Chem Bx side introduces additional heaviness and depth. This results in a genetic profile that feels significantly edgier than many modern dessert hybrids.
Another distinguishing feature is the regular seed type. Blue Corgi is originally offered as 14 regulars and thus stands out from the feminized releases that dominate the market today. Regular seeds contain both sexes of the respective line and are therefore particularly interesting for genetic selection and classic breeding work.
Blue Corgi thus represents a different side of current US cannabis genetics than many dessert and candy hybrids. Albany Sour Diesel, Blue Nerds, Chemdog 4, and Stardawg together form a lineage in which fruit does not remain isolated but meets Sour Diesel, Chem, and gas. It is exactly this field of tension that makes the genetics unique within Cipher Genetics' Chem Bx series.
